Be My Eyes is a new mobile app that let sighted people help blind people identify objects, read signs or navigate a street, among others in real time. The software which was developed by a Danish non-profit start-up, consists of a videochat service that blind people can use to contact sighted volunteers for help.

The concept is quite simple: when a blind person needs help he/she must connect to the videochat by tapping on the screen to find the first available sighted helper. Once the request is accepted, blind users must use the camera on their phone to show the object they need help with.

Be My Eyes is available for iOS devices and can be downloaded at no cost from the Apple Store.
